Garrett graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where she studied pre-med and received a Bachelor’s degree in psychology. She earned her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at East Carolina University, where she completed rotations in both medical and aesthetic dermatology.
A North Carolina native, Garrett’s many interests include her work with canine rescue and caring for her adopted pug. Her choice of field was easy–she has been fascinated by the skin since childhood. Her passion for dermatology and love of science are evident in her approach with each patient.
Garrett is nationally certified by The American Academy of Physician Assistants. She is also a Fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and an active member of the American Acne and Rosacea Society
Katie received her BSN from Sonoma State University and has been providing excellent service as an RN since 1991. Her clinical nursing career ranges from post neuro-surgical to post orthopedic care. She entered the world of cosmetic dermatology in 2001 by working for a mobile cosmetic laser company that contracted with physicians all over Northern Califonia. Dr. Welsh was the Medical Director of the company and invited Katie to join her private cosmetic dermatology practice in San Francisco in 2005.
Katie was born in Berkeley, CA and is married with a set of boy/girl twins. She refers to the twins as “fairytale fertility” after years of trying for a family. She feels so lucky to have both a family and a job she loves.
Yvonne comes to us with a BSN from the University of Arizona and a Master of Science Degree from UCSF, specializing in Oncology. Her nursing career spans over 25 years and encompasses a wide range of experiences.
Yvonne grew up in Winslow, AZ and started her nursing career when she joined the United States Navy after college. She had a passion for working with cancer patients, which inspired her to pursue her Masters in Science. She took care of AIDS patients in the early 90’s as a Hospice nurse in San Francisco and was the Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist for oncology patients at the Palo Alto VA. She has also been an educator at Schering Plough Pharmaceuticals, helping oncology and Hepatitis C patients learn about their disease, treatment, and side effect management.
Yvonne decided to make a career change in 2005 to cosmetic dermatology nursing and is also a personal trainer. She finds great joy in her work and feels her career has come full circle – from helping people pass on with dignity to now helping them live their lives well.
A practicing nurse for nearly 20 years, Stacey received her nursing degree from the University of Loyola Chicago. She began her career in 1996 at the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Stacey entered the world of dermatology and cosmetic surgery after relocating to San Francisco in 1998. At the Marten Clinic of Plastic Surgery, she served as a surgical nurse and, later, as the practice’s Nurse Manager. She later joined Spa Radiance specializing in a variety of injectables and laser procedures. A long-time patient of Dr. Welsh’s practice, Stacey joined Dr. Welsh’s team in 2011.
A native of Iowa, Stacey graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Iowa. She has three daughters and is a long-time resident of San Francisco’s Richmond District.
Mary Krempa graduated in 2010 2nd in her class from South College, Asheville with a degree in nursing. Her background is in the long-term care field where she cared for patients in the sub acute rehabilitation setting. She fell in love with treating post-surgical wounds, maintaining skin health, and managing client’s care to get them to their highest level of functioning. In 2012 she received the Certificate of Recognition from Kaiser Permanente for improving patients’ experiences and outcomes in their 2012 Survey. She specializes in the Ultherapy®, Miradry, and cosmetic laser treatments. In her free time she enjoys exploring the bay area, hiking, cooking, playing the guitar, and singing. She loves nursing and performs it with enthusiasm and a well regarded sense of humor.
Jane Thomas is a board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner. In 2015, Jane moved away from the Bay Area, but she still sees patients on a limited basis when she is in San Francisco. It is her professional goal to provide excellent, evidenced-based dermatologic care and to educate each patient on their specific skin condition. She specializes in the treatment of acne and rosacea, as well as in a full range of aesthetic medical services, including: BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments, sclerotherapy for leg veins, non-surgical skin tightening and resurfacing, photofacials, and laser hair removal.
She graduated Magna cum Laude with her Bachelors of Science in nursing from the University of Texas, Health Science Center in Houston. After 10-years of diverse nursing experience, she pursued a Masters of Science in nursing from the University of Cincinnati. She is an active member of the Dermatology Nurses Association and the Nurse Practitioner Society of the Dermatology Nurses Association.
