What is BELOTERO BALANCE® Dermal Filler?
BELOTERO is an hyaluronic acid based injectable filler that quickly integrates into your skin. Injected by Dr. Welsh or Dr. Hui, it instantly smooths the lines and wrinkles. Although Belotero can be used anywhere in the face, it was added to our San Francisco based practice specifically for its ability to fill in hollows around the eye area with ease. Our own Dr. Andrea Hui is a national educator for Belotero, and is an expert at injecting it in the hollows around the eyes, and in fine lines around the mouth.

How does it work?
BELOTERO is made of a material called hyaluronic acid, a substance that your body creates naturally in your skin. By binding to water, it plumps and fills in wrinkles and folds, allowing immediate and smooth correction. Along with our other hyaluronic acid fillers, Restylane and Juvederm, Belotero brings a soft and natural appearance to the skin when injected by one of our doctors.
How soon can I expect results?
Once injected, you will likely see results immediately, although it can take up to a week for the full correction to settle into the injection sites. Keep in mind that patient experiences vary.
How is the treatment performed?
BELOTERO is injected by Dr. Welsh or Dr. Hui into the skin in a simple, quick procedure using a fine gauge needle or a cannula. Both topical numbing cream and an oral lidocane block are offered for your comfort.
Is it safe?
BELOTERO is FDA approved, and has undergone testing in a clinical study to prove its safety.
Are there any side effects?
Side effects can include mild irritation, swelling, itching, redness, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site. These will typically resolve on their own within a week. If any of these should occur, our trained staff will do our best help you minimize the effects.
